A bird house may attract some unwanted pests such as mice, hornets, and bees. The best way to handle this situation is to clean the house once a year after it has been occupied.
How often do I have to clean out my bird houses? (back to top)
Your bird house(s) should be cleaned out once a year, once you know that it is no longer being occupied. This will reduce un-wanted parasites that may build up and affect the next season nesting birds. It will also discourage any unwanted guests from taking over the abandon nest.

This is a question that has come up many time’s and is debatable among bird enthusiast. I have used both styles of houses and both had tenants. However, all of the bird houses we sell have perches.
Will my cat be attracted to my bird house? (back to top)
I have had several cats in and out of my life, most of my cats have just sat and watch, I guess been lucky. If you are concerned about possible cat and other pests feel free to contact us, can offer some suggestion or other readings that offer suggestion to pest proofing. Again with any animal you always have that chance of encounters. I would not let this deter from having a bird house.

Location is pretty much to your liking, height requirements may differ with what type of bird you are trying to attract. In general most bird house application average between 8 to 20 feet above ground. When purchasing your bird house P & S Country Crafts will provide height placement requirements.
